Building Organizational Effectiveness Initiative
Training/ Educational Workshops for 2012

Since its founding in 1995, Community Memorial Foundation remains dedicated to improving the health of people who live and work in the western suburbs. Healthy communities need healthy organizations, and every organization relies on a strong and capable leadership team to support its mission and growth. For this reason, CMF is proud to sponsor the Leadership Institute for Board Development to provide practical information on management and governance issues that impact the effectiveness of every organization. The series offers comprehensive training for board members and executive directors to lead and excel in operations and governance.

Key thought leaders from around the country will offer workshops in the series. Additional opportunities (Board Member Boot Camp, one-on-one time with consultants) will allow Leadership Institute participants to dive deeper and further strengthen their organizations.

The Leadership Institute is designed for board leaders and executive staff of CMF grantee organizations. While there is no fee for CMF grantees to attend the series, board member participation is required.

Are they engaged, excited about the organization’s mission and ready for action? Gail Perry MBA CFRE will present her popular system for energizing board members. This session will focus on reframing fundraising to your board in a way that will fire them up and inspire them to action. We will look at the tools every board member needs – personal testimonials, mission moments, the elevator speech; and most importantly – how to be a great board member. Learn how board members can change their mindset about fundraising and set themselves to work making friends for the organization rather than focusing on asking for money. They will be able to activate their enthusiasm for all aspects of fundraising – finding friends, donors and spreading the good word about the organization’s vision for a better community.
